6/13/11 NOTES

"Learning genome discovery web" All students interact with differing forms of input or creative manipulations.

All events/tasks are linked in the web with multiple links (people that kids work with) to other events (people) until they get to the place where they can go on their own. (Training wheels until they can ride on their own)

What happens at ZERO? - each learner has no prescient knowledge

How do kids get to the point where they have a passion for particular types of learning?

Individualized programs, Choice of teacher, school, ANYONE can be a teacher (?)

Anyone a learner, everyone a teacher Not experts but concept leaders for each area must include location/place

Social/emotional learning component foundation? Have LOCAL content entity like combining Facebook - Twitter - Craigslist

BASIC foundation for 4 & 5 olds (able to read) - READ Teachers enroll as many kids as they want

6/20/11 - PWF thoughts

The independent nature of this idea requires an independent method of funding. CONCEPT - would be to give parents the funding to use to choose (not cash but as a credit toward the program). Each parent gets 85% of the funds from State/Fed sources to select program. The School automatically gets 15% for operational issues. Special needs students also receive their additional categorical funds

The school provides a catalog of services, parents pick the program, make the requisite payment from the 85% credit. Parent choices, and thus payments, could be based on teacher, program, time, or place of services provided.
